I’m Pastor Susan Nagle. I go by Pastor Nagle, or sometimes PN. I’m a graduate of the University of Delaware and then a decade later of Princeton Theological Seminary. The M.Div. Program which is preparation for ordained ministry lasts 3 years, and then I did an internship in Holmdel NJ. Internship is required by the Lutheran Church but not by the seminary.
Ordained in 1984, New Jersey Synod of the LCA, to serve as Associate Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit NJ. 1984-1992.
1992-2003 Pastor of First Lutheran Church, Montclair NJ.
2003-2008 Pastor of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Bristol CT.
2008-2015 Pastor of Church of the Savior (Lutheran) in Paramus NJ.
2015 to now, Interim Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church
An interim pastor is called by the synod bishop to serve a congregation in the process of seeking a pastor called by the congregation.
Over the years of ministry I have served on a number of boards of local, national and international church work.
Upsala College: board member and chair of Academic Affairs Committee and Presidential Search Committee.
ELCA Division for Ministry Board and Vice Chair, also assigned to serve the Philadelphia Seminary Board (chair of Academic Affairs), Eastern Cluster Planning Council, and editorial committee of the magazine for rostered leaders.
Lutheran World Federation delegate to Hong Kong and Winnipeg, and chair of the Program Committee of the Department for Mission and Development.
I am married for 46 years to Andrew Nagle. We have two ‘children’, now grown with children of their own. I arrived at Grace Lutheran Church, Yorktown Heights NY on Nov. 1, 2015 and will remain here until the congregation completes their search and calls their full-time pastor.
