Our Students Take Part in the Linus Blanket Project.

The goal - to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

Our Teens

The teens and young adults of Grace Lutheran Church participate in a variety of activities outside of our home church.

Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) is a group run by the Metro New York Synod that sponsors a variety of activities including annual Jr. and Sr. HIgh Retreats at Camp Koinonia in Highland Lake, New York. Youth from Grace frequently serve in leadership positions within this group.

Since 1927 Pinecrest Lutheran Leadership Ministries has been gathering young adults of the ELCA in a summer camp setting, providing them with access to a strong faith community and an opportunity to develop their strengths as leaders in the church. This exciting and interactive camp has been a life changing experience for generations of campers, including a large annual contingent of campers from Grace.

Grace always sends an enthusiastic group of youth and adult chaperones to the tri-ennial ELCA National Youth Gatherings, where 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.
